The 2019 Annual Conference of the Association of Science – Technology Centers (ASTC) takes place in Toronto September 21–24. The event, dedicated to science centres and museums, is hosted by the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, Canada. The conference proposes a rich programme of presentations and events with the following highlights:

  • The Traveling Exhibitions Forum, organised by Informal Learning Experiences
  • A session “Handing Over the Controls: Co-Creating Exhibits with Community Partners” with Melissa Radey from Science North
  • A session “One Giant Leap For Shipping Practice” chaired by Rob Warren from The Shipping Monster
  • A session “Beyond the Museum’s Walls: NMNH’s Do-It-Yourself Exhibits Program” by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History
  • A session “Stop, Collaborate and Listen: Co-creating the 21st Century Exhibit Experience” with the Fleet Science Center
  • A live experience of Beyond Human Limits and a demo on The Science of Guinness World Records, two travelling exhibitions by Science North.

In the Exhibit Hall and sessions, visitors will have the opportunity to meet many producers of international touring exhibitions such as Science Museum Group (booth #616), Exhibits Development Group (booth #920), Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie – Palais de la découverte (booth #529), Ingenium – Canada Science and Technology Museum (booth #439), Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo (booth #948) and SC Exhibitions (booth #927). Lascaux International Exhibition will also be present at the event.
