During the week of 1–7 September 2019, the city of Kyoto will welcome some 3,000 participants to the ICOM General Conference. The theme of the triennial gathering organised by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) is “Museums as Cultural Hubs: The Future of Tradition”. Through sessions, excursions, workshops, and more, participants will be able to engage with other museum professionals and enthusiasts to broaden their experience and understanding of museums around the world.

The 2019 annual conference of the ICOM International Committee for Exhibition Exchange (ICEE) will be held 2-6 September in Kyoto as part of ICOM’s 25th General Conference. A rich programme of presentations and events has been announced with key moments including:

  • keynote insights from Qatar, Japan and Brazil
  • international specialists sessions on “Building Resilience and Reinforcing Relevance in Exhibition Exchange”
  • the popular Marketplace of Exhibitions and Ideas
  • the new One-on-One Meetings
  • the ICEE Business Meeting
  • the Risk Taker Networking Session
