Reimagining the Museum is a major conference dedicated to methodologies, innovative ideas and creative approaches to museum practice in the Americas. The first edition of the event took place in Buenos Aires in 2015 and a second one in Medellin in 2017. This year, the conference will take place in Oaxaca, in Mexico and gather museum professionals from South America and international institutions.
The event is organised by Fundación TyPA in Argentina and the AAM (American Alliance of Museums) in the United States. The host city partners with museums and cultural organizations in Mexico, including the Fundación Alfredo Harp Helú Oaxaca and the Museo de la Filatelia, MUFI in Oaxaca; the Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo MUAC, UNAM; the Museo Interactivo de Economía, MIDE; and the Papalote Museo del Niño.
Reimagining the Museum propose two optional days (November 19 and 23) to participate in planned pre- or post-visits to museums and cultural spaces in Oaxaca.
