ICEBREAKER STUDIOS places nature at the heart of its subjects and produces immersive experiences, based on images shot during expeditions around the world. A way of deploying cinema in space to take visitors on a journey.
Icebreaker’s philosophy is built on the personal values and beliefs of Luc Jacquet, who has spent the last 35 years working tirelessly to raise awareness about the need to protect our natural environment.
With his academic background in ecology, Luc Jacquet has always wanted to work with nature, collaborating closely with scientists. With the release of the film “March of the Penguins”, the entire world was introduced to the life of the emperor penguin and its fight for the survival of its species. What could be more effective than cinema, as a way of reaching out to millions of people globally? The film was a huge hit and was rewarded with an Oscar.
Which raised the question: how can that new popularity be used to the benefit of nature and science?
