The new version VR of the Lascaux traveling exhibition is an official production from France (Ministry of Culture; New Aquitaine Region; Dordogne Department), managed by a public local company, the "SPL Lascaux international exhibition".
More than 15 French scientific institutions have contributed to the perfectly accurate content, validated by a scientific committee chaired by Pr Yves Coppens from College de France.

5 monumental facsimiles
Lascaux Exhibition offers an identical reconstruction of the decorated walls of the most spectacular sanctuary of Paleolithic art. Five life-size facsimiles, fully movable and dismantable, recreate with total exactitude the work of artists who lived 20 000 years ago. This is the first time an exclusive exhibition of a prehistoric cave travels the globe.
Lascaux VR Experience
More than that, since 2021, we developed a new experience : the virtual reality experience allows visitor to be alone in the cave. They can experience various paintings techniques and finally enter in the deepest gallery where nobody has been since 1940 !
8 interactive modules
Modulable exhibits for all publics :
hyper-realistic anatomical sculptures of prehistoric humans by Elisabeth Daynes
interactive tables, media games and low-tech hands-on
a 1:10 scale-model of the cave with paintings and prehistoric lights recreated

interviews of prehistoric experts…
Unique, exclusive, amazing, unforgettable, Lascaux Experience is a powerful approach to understand who were our Cro Magnon ancestors and realize how elegant – and mysterious – was their culture, 20 000 years ago.
