Description

The Antoni Gaudí exhibition has been visited by 700,000 people around the world, in countries such as Japan, South Korea, Russia, etc, in collaboration with Basílica de la Sagrada Família, Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera, the Càtedra Gaudí – Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Casa Batlló, Casa Vicens, the Arxiu Històric del Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya, among many others. The aim of this exhibition is to provide a clear and didactic approximation to this eminent architect, one of the most outstanding figures in international architecture and art. Through his plans, drawings, models, furniture, architectural elements, sculptures, period photographs and various audiovisual aids, this exhibition introduces visitors both to this eminent architect and his most important work.  The present exhibition shows different building projects undertaken by Gaudí that shed light on some aspects of his work and its historical and cultural context. At first glance, one is amazed by the originality of his forms, ornamentation and chromaticism, the richness of his symbols and the inspiration he takes from nature. Looking further, one finds other underlying aspects that reveal Gaudí’s mastery and the rationality of the constructional system behind the forms. His unique talent is also apparent in the innovation of his constructional solutions, the result of lifelong meticulous study and work.  About 700,000 people have visited the exhibition around the world: 2012, 4 months, Zaragoza – Spain 2013, 3 months, Valladolid – Spain 2013, 3 months, Logroño – Spain 2014, 3 months, Tokyo – Japan 2014, 1 month, Kanazawa – Japan 2014 – 2015, 3 months, Nagasaki, Japan 2015, 3 months, Kobe, Japan 2015 , 2 months, Sendai, Japan 2015, 4 months, Seoul, South Korea 2015 – 2016, 4 Months, Daegu, South Korea 2016, 4 months, Changwon, South Korea 2017, 5 months, Moscow, Russian Federation 2018 – 2019, 6 months, Amsterdam, Netherlands.
