Description

New Lascaux exhibition 2025 ✨

The Lascaux travelling exhibition, imagined in 2010, has been presented on 4 continents, 13 countries and 18 cities around the world. To date, it’s the first and only travelling exhibition devoted exclusively to a painted cave. Currently under renovation, the new version of the exhibition is proposed from 2025.

Monumental facsimiles : pieces of the cave on the move!

Lascaux Exhibition offers perfect reconstructions of the decorated walls of the most spectacular sanctuary of Paleolithic art : the Lascaux cave, in Dordogne, France. Life-size facsimiles, designed and produced in France at the Facsimile Workshop in the Perigord, fully movable and dismantable, recreate with total exactitude the work of artists who lived 20 000 years ago.

New in 2025 : back to the heart of Lascaux with a new immersive facsimile

Being completely renovated in 2023-24, the Lascaux exhibition will focuse on its primordial masterpiece, the most beautiful painted room of the Prehistory, the Hall of the Bulls. A new immersive experience around the facsimile of the Hall of the Bulls will be offered from 2025.

Lascaux VR Experience

More than that, since 2021, Lascaux exhibition propose a virtual reality experience : a 12 minutes immersive VR Experience “Alone in Lascaux”

Modulable experiences and exhibits for all publics

Interactive exhibits for all publics : hyper-realistic anatomical sculptures of prehistoric humans by Elisabeth Daynes , interactive tables, media games and low-tech hands-on, a 1:10 scale-model of the cave with paintings and prehistoric lights recreated, archaeological objects (artefacts) found in Lascaux, exclusive collection of Lascaux photographic archives, interviews of prehistoric experts…

Unique, exclusive, amazing, unforgettable, Lascaux Experience is a powerful approach to understand who were our Cro Magnon ancestors and realize how elegant – and mysterious – was their culture, 20 000 years ago.
