Do you have demonstrable project management experience? Do you want to be responsible for project managing the production and delivery of exhibitions at sites across the Science Museum Group?

The new Exhibitions Strategy marks a step change in the Museum’s aspiration to engage with the best practices to enhance our visitors’ experiences through beautiful, appropriate and well-crafted displays shown across SMG and beyond. Committed to this strategic priority the Exhibition Services team will support colleagues across the organisation to successfully deliver exhibitions, both within SMG and with our external partners nationally and internationally.

SMG are now recruiting for a Project Delivery Manager to join the Exhibition Services team on a permanent contract, working 35 hours per week. This role will cover multiple sites so you can be based at our museums in London, York or Manchester, in addition to some working from home.

In the role of Project Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for project managing the production and delivery of exhibitions at sites across SMG, nationally and internationally, feeding into and approving design as appropriate for sharing and touring.

You will work with Exhibition Project Managers owning the procurement and production work packages for the project, supporting budget and programme across the life of exhibitions. You will have responsibility for the logistics of moving the exhibitions between sites, ensuring the integrity of the design and care of the collection across its scheduled displays. In addition to this, you will be delivering all practical arrangements of exhibitions, including procurement, contract management, contractor management, health and safety, transportation and installation.
