The SEMECCEL, which operates the Cité de l’espace and the Envol des Pionniers, designs touring exhibitions which, after their presentation at the Cité, travel to museums, cultural centres and commercial venues in France and abroad. As part of the development of the institution’s event activities, you will support the team both on site and in the management of commercial opportunities as a Touring Exhibitions Assistant.
You will support the Head of the Travelling Exhibitions Department and the Exhibition Manager in the administrative, operational and commercial management of the department. You will occasionally participate in the setting up and dismantling of travelling exhibitions.
Logistics administration:
- Organise operational schedules (rentals, assembly/disassembly, team travel, etc.) in France and abroad
- Organise travel to the exhibition sites (organisers, service providers, national and international road transport, customs, etc.)
- Manage the administrative support: dashboard, mission orders, estimates, purchase orders, service providers, etc.
Commercial / Sales / Communication :
- Updating files, following up on clients and prospects
- Ensure telephone follow-ups with museums and hosting venues
- Ensure commercial follow-ups (CRM tool)
- Contribute to and update the travelling exhibitions webpage
- Management of the “Travelling Exhibitions” social networks
- Carry out specific and punctual missions
Assistance in the management of travelling exhibitions:
- Acquire knowledge by participating in the setting up/dismantling of exhibitions with the exhibition manager (field training)
- Occasionally assist with set-up/dismantling operations when required

Created by the City of Toulouse in collaboration with the Occitanie Pyrénées-Méditerranée county and the Ministry of Education, the Cité de l’espace is a site of Toulouse Métropole opened in 1997. It is managed by the SEMECCEL, a semi-public company owned by Toulouse Métropole, the Toulouse City Council, the Occitanie Pyrénées-Méditerranée county, the CNES, Airbus Defence and Space, and Météo-France (founding members of the Cité de l’espace) as well as Thales Alenia Space, the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations and the Caisse d’Epargne de Midi-Pyrénées. The SEMECCEL also manages L’Envol des Pionniers, another major cultural institution in Toulouse.
