The exhibition contains actual food and normally includes a tasting bar, and as such, requires fridges, freezers, dishwashers and running water to keep hygiene at peak levels.

The exhibition normally contains 80 exhibited items, varying from objects displayed on tables, to images, to tv screens. For smaller venues, some of the exponata can be removed to fit, and larger venues can be filled with our temporary exhibitions, adding up to 40 additional exponata.

The Disgusting Food Museum is an immersive experience with star objects such as Sardinian maggot cheese and Chinese bull penis, but also the interactivity of a tasting bar where visitors get a chance to actually taste of the exhibited items for themselves. The exhibition texts are short and interesting, meaning nearly all visitors read the whole sign for the exhibited items.
