Description

How about going back?

MOON, the new exhibition, invites you to share an adventure from reality to imagination, in which living on the Moon becomes possible.

Get ready! Train and test your astronaut skills: memory, communication, composure, precision… What will your strengths be? Take on challenges and earn skill badges.
Then explore a lunar science base and discover what daily life is like there: mutual aid, adaptation and community living are on the agenda!
Finally, dream about the Moon in the distant future… If you really had to settle there, what imaginary city-state would you choose? Discuss, build, compare: what might human life be like up there?
Discover the Moon as you’ve never seen it before! Ready for an extraordinary journey?

Objectives :

  • Learn about and raise awareness of the issues and challenges of lunar exploration in the 21st century
  • Promote a scientific culture (STEM) and a space culture that encourages personal engagement among the public, particularly children
  • Mobilise the resources of the imagination to explore possible futures and stimulate critical thinking about their implications

SECTOR A – SPRINGBOARD TO THE MOON

How do you prepare for a trip to and stay on the Moon? What physical and mental qualities are required? Do you have to be a brilliant astronaut, a perfect Swiss Army knife, to take part in the lunar adventure? Visitors are immersed in an astronaut training centre. Several devices allow them to test and exercise their skills.

SECTOR B – MOON BASE

Visitors are transported to a future in which humankind has managed to establish and inhabit the Moon. At this scientific base, a whole range of data must be monitored to keep the base running smoothly: oxygen, water, food, waste… this is everyday life for the inhabitants of the Moon!

SECTOR C – The cities of the Moon

In the distant future – a very distant future – the Moon is divided into five city-states: Goun (Factory City), Bigan (Leisure City), Khounsou (Stopover City), Kali (Pirate City) and Quetzal (Science City). Visitors are invited to choose their city and give free rein to their creativity. Interactive devices, graphic representations and content will enable them to shape and exercise their imagination: what could the future of humankind on the Moon look like?
