Description

This exhibition is a summary of over fifty years of diving, in which the poetry of images that border on abstract art is combined with documentation of underwater biodiversity and the fragility of ecosystems increasingly threatened by the pressure of human activities. Thus, David Doubilet is not only a world-class photographer. He is an unparalleled witness to the vulnerability of marine habitats but also to the resilience of the creatures that inhabit them. And today, his mission is to raise awareness about the protection of the oceans. Inspired by his famous technique of over/under water in the same shot, the exhibition is curated around opposites. Gallery sections include pairings such as Cold/Warm, Close/Far, Bright/Dark, all taken from his dives around the world.
