NGS Education supports educators and students in learning about the world and how it works, understanding the interconnectedness of the earth’s systems and cultivating empathy for all who inhabit it. The Education department also includes the Museum and Experiences team, which oversees the Washington, D.C. museum, the National Geographic Store, and the traveling exhibitions program.

National Geographic believes young people, and the educators who reach them, are key to addressing the planet’s most pressing challenges. Our goals are ambitious, but achievable, and are anchored by a team of dedicated individuals driven by purpose and hope. We seek to equip millions of educators with the tools and resources they need to help young people develop an explorer’s mindset and cultivate empathy for the earth. We design, develop and implement a diverse range of experiences and programs (both physical and virtual) which are then shared with our worldwide network of museums, galleries and other venues worldwide for millions of people to interact with.

The International Traveling Exhibitions Project Manager will provide project support for our Experiences partners and content. This person is responsible for managing partner needs, preparatory materials for the traveling exhibition packages, processing invoice requests, image research, and representing our group to other NGS departments as well external constituents. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, well organized, and is a fast learner willing to take on a variety of project management tasks.

Position reports to the Director of International Traveling Exhibitions. Domestic and international travel may be required.
