A unique exhibition exploring the British Royal Family’s relationship with the camera.
The exhibition brings together over 110 of the most iconic images ever taken of the Royal Family and explores their enduring relationship with the camera. From Queen Victoria and Prince Albert’s patronage of photography during its infancy to less known intimate family portraits, the exhibition spans from the 19th century to the present day.
The exhibition explores the stories behind images by renowned photographers from Cecil Beaton and Marcus Adams in the 20th century to Rankin and Annie Leibovitz today. A selection of images taken by Royal Family members themselves are also featured, including the work of the celebrated photographer Lord Snowdon, husband of Princess Margaret.
This is the first touring exhibition from Historic Royal Palaces and Nomad Exhibitions is proud to be their touring exhibitions partner.
Curated by Historic Royal Palaces, London.
Kensington Palace, London – March to October 2022
Hillsborough Castle, Northern Ireland – March to October 2024
