Description

This exhibition produced by Musée de la Musique is devoted to Jamaican music, a unique heritage in music history. Jamaica has produced one of the last great musical heritage of the 20th century. Reggae and its inventions dreamt up in the suburbs of kingston have left a lasting mark on today’s urban music.

Jamaican music has ramifications as extensive as Jazz or blues and has given rise to legends as Bob Marley & the Wailers, Peter Tosh, King Tubby and Lee Perry. This exhibit celebrates music that has become the loudspeaker for a people’s identity and whose fame has spread well beyond te island fame to make it one of the most popular genres.
