SAMURAI presents the history and culture of Japan’s legendary warrior class through original artefacts from the collection of the Samurai Museum Berlin one of the European museums dedicated only to the Samurai.
The collection is considered one of the largest and most highly regarded of its kind.
Samurai have fascinated people around the world and have become familiar to many through films, television series, and literature. However, these popular images tell only part of the samurai story. The exhibition takes visitors beyond the myths and introduces them to the world of the Samurai through authentic objects and the captivating stories they hold.
Carefully selected original objects, including armour, helmets and swords, reveal the skill of Japanese craftsmen and the traditions, myths and stories associated with the Samurai will be presented. The exhibition takes visitors beyond familiar images from film and literature and offers an authentic encounter with this influential culture.
