Description

Cult, mythical or scientific objects, meteorites convey both emotion and inestimable information. In an immersive scenography, the museum’s exceptional collections are highlighted and interpreted through numerous interactive or contemplative devices.

FALLEN FROM THE SKY

The visitor’s first stop on this journey is the earth: with accounts of fallen and found meteorites, the history of their representations and the consequences of giant impacts.

EXTRATERRESTRIAL ROCKS

The visitor embarks on a spaceship to discover the solar system’s history and the origin of meteorites. The presentation of numerous specimens serves to explore the great diversity of meteorites. Finally, an interactive device demonstrates the long trip made from space by these rocks before they fell to the earth.

METEORITES: ARCHIVES OF THE PAST

What can meteorites teach us about our solar system? How do scientists study them? Immersive projections, a multiple-player touch table and lunar or Martian meteorites to be touched provide answers to these questions.
